The Lidums Australian Allegro held at Glenelg was won by SA State Champion Goran Srdic. He finished with a perfect 7/7 ahead of Alan Goldsmith on 6/7. IM Mark Chapman and Kevin Sheldrick finished equal third on 5.5/7

The December Blitz was a very strong tournament with players and coaches from the Australian Young Masters playing in a warm up to that competition. IM Vladimir Smirnov won with fellow IM George Xie coming second. The best SA player was SA Blitz Champion Goran Srdic who finished third.

The 2011 chess year kicked off in style with a January Allegro. Farzin Rad and Alexander Sykes tied for first place.
The Australia Day Rapid was held the next day and this also resulted in a tie for first, with Kevin Sheldrick and Alexander Sykes taking the honours.
