Other events for 2006SAJCL Schools Allegro Championships
These half-day tournaments take place on the second to last Friday afternoon and the last Tuesday and Wednesday mornings of each term, except in last term when they take place early in December.
All matches will take place at the Chess Centre, 10 Ranelagh St Adelaide, just off Waymouth St, west of Light Square. There is plenty of easy parking and it's close to buses on Currie St.
The starting time and finishing times are flexible and the Chess Centre will be open from 8.30am on the Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
The cost per student is $10 but a generous discount is available for groups of 8 or more students.
All players will receive a Participation Certificate and there will be age prizes and door prizes. The top 3 schools in each heat will qualify for the Final in December - and the winning schools will be decided by simply adding the scores of their top 4 players.
These events are open to all students, from beginners to advanced, from lower-primary through to middle-secondary although we would prefer secondary students to play in the Wednesday Competitions if possible. We may run two or more separate events on the day, depending on the number of entries and the diversity of strength.
To enter, please fax or email to Alan Goldsmith a list of the players' names and ages by the Wednesday of the week before - however late-comers, schools etc will be welcome on the day - they just may have to wait a few days for their Participation certificates.
