The AGM (Annual General Meeting) for SACA is to be held at the chess centre on Sunday 10th February at 1:00pm. All members of SACA (i.e. any person who played a rated game in the last year, and all life members) are encouraged to attend, vote, or stand for a position. The AGM will be followed by a blitz tournament at 3pm. There will also be a council meeting after the AGM (probably overlapping with the blitz tournament) which can be attended by any registered members, but voting is reserved for officers elected at the AGM.

The agenda for the AGM is as follows:

Acceptance of previous minutes
Reports:
Election of officers: Technically, there are no nominations for any of the positions, as the secretary has not received written nominations (with seconders) for any of the positions. In practice the chairman is likely to call for nominations from the floor.
Election of other positions: These are either not officers, or lumped under "other positions as needed" in the constitution
Election of committees: President, Deputy President, Secretary and Treasurer are, unless otherwise stated, ex-officio on all committees. Additional members can be nominated for the following: Motions given notice: Motions presented to the association prior to 31/12/07 are to be considered by the AGM. These include
Motions from the floor: Motions without notice may be put to the meeting for consideration by the council but are not binding (presumably those with notice are, but this is not stated explicitly in the constitution).

Discussion of fees and times for council meetings: These are usually done at the AGM, but don't seem to be mentioned in the most recent draft of the constitution.
