* Team
of 4: 4 players from the same school, or any other team of 4 juniors,
where the sum of ratings is less than 5000 (Unrated counts as 1000).
The venue will not be Adelaide University like last year, but will
be held at Prince Alfred college (5 minutes from the city).
- A catered dinner
will be provided at $15 for players and $25 for non-players.
- SACA
has (or is in the process of) sending invitations to titled players.
This describes the financial incentives for GM and IM players. The
current
expectation is that GMs will have up to $300 reimbursed for domestic
air-fare to and from the venue, will be given free dinner and free
entry,
and will
be guaranteed $300 prize money. IMs should have the same conditions as
GMs but will be
guaranteed $200 prize money instead of $300, and will not have their
travel paid for.
Conditions should be negotiated on a player by player basis prior to
the event. Contact George Howard (0414
841 575) for details.
- The
tournament will be a seven round Swiss, with 60 minutes each plus
10 seconds per
move from the start of play. Up to two half point byes may be requested
at the start of the tournament. Entry will cost $70 for adults and $50
concession for the
main tournament and $50 for adults and $40 concession for the Under
1600 tournament (Concession meaning full time student, unemployed or
pensioner. A concession card must be provided to be eligible for the
concession discount). A
late fee of $10 will apply to all late entries (received
after 11pm Friday 4th July).
